Personal Invitation to Entrepreneur School (Chelmsford) Wednesday 22nd July
Your are cordially invited to attend Chelmsford Entrepreneur School EVENT 2 being held on the 22nd July at our usual Chelmsford venue, Shire Hall and there is no charge for this event.

During this event we welcome our first Entrepreneur School guest speaker Keith Andrews. Keith will be discussing BUSINESS PLANNING. Keith has 30 years of banking experience across all business sectors and has 10 years with his own practice. Keith adopts a commonsense approach with practical advice that is jargon free www.keithandrewassociates.co.uk.
The event is also an opportunity for all Million Impossible members who have reserved an Entrepreneur School area to attend and see first hand how the event runs and for any member who is interested in running a school to attend the event.
Our launch night event on the 8th July had an attendance of 65 people and we hope to reach similar numbers next week. The night was buzzing with conversation and business networking activity.

Hi Tom and Brad, Sorry I would have loved to be able to attend on the 22nd, but sadly the latter part of the afternoon is already booked and I cannot get down in time. It is a bit of a haul from Milton Keynes. I look forward to hopefully making another of your evenings. I hope it goes well for you. Lynda Out Of Office info@outofoffice.me www.outofoffice.me

Hi all,
I am really looking forward to meeting a lot of our members and seeing ES really get going. I think this represents a great networking opportunity that fits in with the MI ethos.

Great to see so many of our members (and non-members) at the show tonight!
My fingers are buring after taking down all of your suggestions and comments on the topics you would like to ehar about and how to make the events bigger and better in the future!
An email will be going out to all who attended with the email addresses of those other members who were there (as per YOUR suggestion!!)
All the best, Tom |

Following my telephone conversation with Adam this morning, I thought it might be helpful to share some thoughts.
Suggestion 1
Work on developing a format for the Entrepreneur School meetings that can be replicated by people taking on new territories. All successful organisations from Alcoholics Anonymous to Toastmasters International have a format that others can learn to apply.
A format minimises the need for charismatic leadership, and focuses on the contribution made by the people attending. When people go to a meeting in a strange town, they know what to expect and how to behave. That immediately breaks the ice and gives them a bond with the other people in the room.
Here is a possible format:
6.30 to 6.45: Arrival pick up refreshments and settle in. Keep the round table format. It’s much easier to relate to eight or ten people than a room full. This is not speed-dating. Hosts welcome new members at the door and try to get a mix of new and established members on each table.
6.45 to 7.00: People at each table introduce themselves. A simple format would be each person having one minute to say:
- Who I am and what I do
- Something good that has happened to me today
- The action I took as a result of the last meeting I attended and how it turned out
- What would help me to find out about or talk about today
When everyone has spoken, you go round the table again so that people can declare any source of information or suggestion in response to the needs stated by others. But don’t take up time with detail – there is a 10 minute slot for that later.
7.00 to 7.05: Announcements from the organiser (future events etc). All details to be posted in forums.
7.05 to 7.15: Information exchange. People have a few minutes to exchange the contact details and tips mentioned above, be introduced to people, pick up refreshments and take a comfort break.
7.15 to 7.45: Main presentation.
7.45 to 8.00: Each person takes a moment to write down the two or three actions they will take as a result of hearing the presentation and then up to a minute to talk about them with the rest of the table. Talking about decisions with others means that you are much more likely to implement them.
8.00 to 8.25: Brief summary report back to the room from each table about the kind of decisions taken by members. This is followed by questions to the speaker from the floor.
8.25 to 8.30: Thanks and close of formal session.
8.30 to 9.00: Informal networking.
Suggestion 2
Make the Entrepreneur School ethos explicit. For example, you could say that members are there to learn and help others by sharing experience and offering support. Leads may be generated as a result, but that is not the main purpose of the meeting. All advice offered is freely given. Any professional advisers in the room regard it as a ‘free clinic’ which in many cases may lead to actual business, but the advice is not given with that expectation.
Hope you find this constructive.
