Hi I am interested in arranging the Entrepreneur School for Ipswich and
surrounding area but would need some help and assistance as I would
be unable to undertake such a task by myself due to family commitments
and possibility being called away on emergencies, so I would like
additional commitment from another party if possible.

JTML.com would be willing to split the charges but only if a fellow party or
parties would be willing also to do so on equal terms.

Out of interest would a AM/PM daytime timeslot be preferable (for
myself it would be ideal).

Normally 2 – 3 and maybe 4 hrs if possible to make it worth while
and value for money, (subject to time limits maybe a once in a while
workshop of 10:30 – 16:30 with special guests maybe).

Subjects and views for the school would also be welcome either from
parties outside our business areas but with relevance. Perhaps from a
Bank, Solicitors, Tax advisors and other companies with a number of
topical to debates too.

Ideas would be welcome and views etc.

Regards

Matt (JTML.com)

Hi Matt

I'm afraid I'm based in Birmingham rather than the Ipswich area, but I wanted to voice general support for your proposition.

I, too, looked into the potential of a running an Entrepreneur School, but came to the conclusion that it was a lot of work for someone who is already busy.

However, I think the idea of a couple of individuals/businesses sharing the role is a really good one. That way, you can spread the load a bit while also enabling the School to tap into a far wider immediate network of personal/business contacts. I also quite like the idea of running the School during part of the business day on occasion – but maybe a 3pm/4pm start into the early evening would be easier for some to attend than effectively taking a whole day out of their week?

I hope you find another Mi member who is willing and able to work with you in this way. Good luck with getting the School up and running!

Kyla.

Hello Matt

I'm afraid that I can't help you in Ipswich as I am based in Maidenhead but I think it's great that you are willing to go out on a limb and get things started.

If anybody reading this is interested in the Berkshire area, will they let me know?

Good luck with everything, Matt.

Hi All,

This forum is proving very interesting and productive. With luck and a bit of time etc we maybe able to get something together depending on the commitment etc.

So far there maybe 3 possible members all being well, we should if possible hold a small meeting next week to discuss our approach ?

Also if possible the more members sharing it could be benifical too and leading the
commitment and ideas, please if there are any more members please keep this thread
open for your replies

Regards and many thanks more to come

Hi,

I would like to ask all members based in Suffolk etc would show an interest in attending to reply to the forum so we can estimate approx numbers and commitment.

After a number of meetings I think we have tried to iron out an outline for the
School etc based on a few models: Views welcome and the models are free to change.

For my personal view is an am meeting from 10am - 12am
(but as always free to change).

Model 1.

Keep networking as a peripheral goal with a 5-10 minute meet and great.
3 subject speakers at 20 minutes a piece 30 minute Q & A session at the end.

Model 2.

Networking 5-10 minutes
2-30 minute speakers with different topics to present.
30 minute Q & A session
30 minute team project on the discussed subjects

10 minutes to debrief
10 minutes to close

Model 3

1.5 hour case study
20 minute Q & A study
10 minute debrief

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Who would you like to speak at the meetings and from what areas
of Business etc ?

Regards

I think it is an excellent idea getting someone else on board. With large numbers attending the Entrepreneur Schools it may help to share the networking with others and help grow it together.
