Most visitors to Cornwall require at least two things

– accommodation and local information.

On holiday the type of accommodation can vary from a tent to a posh hotel depending on the type of holiday you are looking for and the depth of your pockets. It is very useful to research what is available in the part of Cornwall you're visiting before you start planning your break in any detail. Our website, Visiting Cornwall (www.visiting-cornwall.co.uk), brings all the various types of accommodation together in one place so that you can browse through them and follow the links to their individual websites for more information. Several thousands of people every month visit the website and many leave their mark (on our visitors Guest map).

Tate St Ives

Visiting Cornwall brings you much more than details about accommodation: There are an assortment of pages relating to tourist attractions ranging from theme parks, through beautiful gardens and ancient castles, to indoor and outdoor museums and art galleries. Best known of these are the Eden Project, near St Austell, and the Tate St Ives in West Cornwall.

Visiting Cornwall also provides links to local transport facilities, local radio, television and newspapers, weather and surf news, local tourist information centres, beaches, theatres, night clubs, restaurants, pubs, cafes, tea shops, gift shops, sports & leisure facilities, places of worship and much more. In fact the 200 plus pages of Visiting Cornwall can provide links to almost everything you need to know before, during and after your visit.

Remember to check the Calendar Of events for the dates when you will be visiting Cornwall. There is something going on somewhere in Cornwall nearly every day of the year.

Because Visiting Cornwall is regularly crawled over by the web spiders that maintain the major search engines like Google and Yahoo, the links from it to your website will be followed and this will enhance your standing with these search engines.

How do we do this for such a small cost?

Wheal Coates St Agness

Firstly and fore mostly this is a labour of love; love for Cornwall from a web designer that was born and bred in the middle of the county. Having enjoyed the delights of the duchy (we have our own Duke and Duchess) he wanted to share these delights with everyone else. As with any town, city or county, there are a few parts that are not as nice as they could be, but this is far outweighed by the sheer beauty of the coast and countryside, not to mention the friendliness of the Cornish people.

Secondly the website is strewn with little advertising links that bring in a small income to cover the running costs of the hardware and domain registration.

One of the big events of the year is the Daphne du Maurier Festival, which is lasts for 10 days in early May. Events take place at various times from morning to night in and around the picturesque harbour town of Fowey, situated on the south coast near St Austell.

If you live or work in Cornwall and have an event coming up there, please let us know. There is a submission link on the main Calendar page. We would be please to include your event on Visiting Cornwall.
